Dr. Ray Grewal
DDS, FRCD(C)
Dr. Raymon Grewal received his Bachelor of Science degree in Anatomy and Histology from McGill University. In 2001, he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Ivy League institution of Columbia University in New York City. He later went on to pursue his additional four years of training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Hospital of Saint Raphael/Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.
After the completion of his residency in July of 2005, Dr. Grewal joined a well respected oral and maxillofacial surgery group in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After practicing for four years in the United States, he made the decision to return to Vancouver where he was born and raised. He is a board certified specialist and serves as the Division Head of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at BC Children’s Hospital and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of British Columbia Dental School. Dr. Grewal practices the full scope of office and hospital based oral and maxillofacial surgery with a special interest in dentoalveolar procedures, anesthesia, implants, bone grafting, oral pathology, maxillofacial reconstruction, and trauma. He maintains full surgical privileges at both BC Children’s Hospital and Lion’s Gate Hospital.
Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Grewal is actively involved in supporting the profession and the public to which it serves. He volunteers on numerous committees and task forces and has served as the President of the Dental Specialists Society of BC, the President of the BC Dental Association, and the President of the BC Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is currently the Treasurer of the Canadian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and also serves on the Advisory Council at Science World.
In 2018, Dr. Grewal was nominated by his colleagues to be inducted into three honorary dental societies; The American College of Dentists, The International College of Dentists, and The Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Dr. Akash Villing
DMD, FRCD(C)
Dr. Villing is a Board Certified Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Villing grew up in Delta and then went on to obtain both his BSc. and DMD from the University of British Columbia. Following dental school, he practiced Dentistry in rural BC. He then went on to complete his specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Washington.
In addition, he serves as the Head of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for the Fraser Valley division of the BC Cancer Agency. Dr. Villing is also a clinical instructor in Oral Surgery at the University of British Columbia, the Vice President of the British Columbia Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (BCAOMS) and the President of the Fraser Valley Dental Society. He serves on the Board of Directors for the BCDA and is also a Sedation and Anesthesia facility inspector for the CDSBC.
His practice focuses on the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, including guided dental implant surgery, bone grafting, soft tissue grafting, wisdom teeth extractions, outpatient sedation and anesthesia, management of medically complex patients, TMJ, pre-prosthetic surgery, and orthodontic surgical procedures.
Dr. Harsh Mangat
MD, DMD, MSc, FRCD(C)
Dr. Mangat is dual-degree and double-board certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. Following medical and dental school, he completed his surgical training at the University of Toronto. To further pursue his passion for Cosmetic Surgery, he was internationally selected for the prestigious European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery fellowship in London, England.
With the exceptional experience of training under some of the foremost surgeons in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Mangat has developed an expertise in the full scope of Oral, Maxillofacial and Facial Plastic Surgery techniques.
His surgical experience and aspirations are balanced by a strong interest in clinical research to remain engaged with cutting-edge advancements and techniques within the field. At present, he is a scientific reviewer for the Facial Plastic Surgery journal and an active member of European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery.
Being a native of Western Canada, Dr. Mangat embraced the opportunity to return home and respond to the community’s need for comprehensive care in both Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgery.
